We don't have them, but a couple of nearby departments do have one or two units. They use them more often to find wanted persons or stolen cars... I have no idea if they use them for traffic enforcement or not. Expired license plates are so easy to see here that I don't think you'd need an auto reader to write them if you wanted to...
